  The Wellesley Summer Theatre Company
Is proud to announce their production of
    The Trip to Bountiful
                                                                   By Horton Foote

Opening June 3 @ 7pm in the Schneider Center Theatre on the Wellesley College Campus

Horton Foote’s tender, heartfelt study focuses on Carrie Watts (played by Lisa Foley) who dreams of returning to her childhood home in the small town of Bountiful, Texas, which she left three decades ago.  She sets out to fulfill her dream, with results that are both heartbreaking and brilliantly life-affirming. The Trip to Bountiful, a beloved story of the strength and dignity that permeates even the smallest life, has been described by Ben Brantley in The New York Times as a story that possesses “a sense of rootlessness, erosion, and the pain and pleasure of memory.”

Directed by artistic director, Nora Hussey and designed by the resident team of Ken Loewit (scenic and lighting design), Nancy Stevenson (costume design), and George Cooke (sound design).

The production welcomes back company members past and present:
Heather Boas, Danny Bolton, John Davin, Lisa Foley, Derek Stone Nelson, Sarah Barton, Lily Saffer

    Like No Business I Know

Opening June 20th @ 7pm in the Schneider Center Theatre on the Wellesley College Campus.

The Wellesley Summer Theatre Company has put together a musical journey that gives the audience a "back-stage" glance of what it's like to work in the theatre.  Using the art form to comment on itself, the ensemble explores the actor's experience and charts the process of mounting a show from audition to post-production using familiar and rare songs composed by Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Stephen Schwartz, Frank Wildhorn, Maury Yeston, Jason Robert Brown and others.  It's like no business I know!

Directed by company member Eric Hamel and choreographed by company member Catherine Arnold.
